What started out as an 8th grade science project is now a full-fledged business with high hopes of becoming a future classic. Will Jarvis’ family owned a winery in Napa Valley and in 1994, he started his science project in a two-gallon barrel. Picking the grapes himself, he then aged his wine for 10 years and the result astounded the company’s winemaker. The resulting Cabernet Franc has a fruity taste and Jarvis has since repeated the experiment. A total of 400 cases will be produced of this wine of humble beginnings. $105.
