Blow onlookers away when you decorate your digs with this amazing piece of aviation history. This is the Stage 1 fan assembly of the Rolls-Royce RB211 turbine. Made of titanium, the 84.25-inch (diameter) fan was the moving force for the RB211 engine that powered the Lockheed Tristar Airbus into flight. When it was in service, the powerful jet engine provided 40,600 lbs. of thrust. While this won’t be airworthy now, the fan blades are still beautiful to look at. It has 33 blades, all made of titanium and mounted on a metal stand. It’s being offered for auction at Christie’s Out of the Ordinary event on September 5, 2013 in London, South Kensington. $93,060+.
