Some people may still be feeling the buzz from binge-drinking on St. Patrick’s Day. There are others, however, who celebrate the holy day for the Apostle of Ireland whenever possible. Irish whiskey is always a good choice whether you’re commemorating the holiday or not, and this next feature should be in your cellar. The Redbreast Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey has been aged for 21 years. This means that this whiskey can order whiskey for itself. It’s made from malted and unmalted barley. A triple distillation process follows to reveal all of the complexities and its total potential. The resultant is then matured in American oak barrels and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. You’ll be treated to tastes of bananas, butterscotch with a caramel finish. There’s even a citrusy note somewhere in there as well. It’s a stiff drink, at 92 proof so don’t go chugging on this Redbreast. $180.
