A long history with challenges along the way can lead to an exceptionally resilient company. That’s probably the best description for the GlenDronach Distillery. One of Scotland’s oldest, the company has been producing fine whisky for nearly two centuries. And because of that, they certainly know their whisky well. From their vast portfolio comes the GlenDronach Tawny Port Wood Finish 15 Years Old. The drink starts the maturation process in European oak casks, then moved to Tawny Port casks to bring out its own unique flavors. Be treated with tastes of raisins, sultanas and chocolate at the nose, which then lead to flavors of vanilla custard, dried figs and dates. Aged for 15 years, the whisky is so good that it won the silver Outstanding Quality Award at the 2012 International Wine and Spirit Competition. We encourage you to drink this GlenDronach in moderation because it’s bottled at 92 proof. $80.
