Over the past year we’ve seen luxury watchmakers return to classic traditions and the recent spotting of pocket watches proves that even though modern technology has given us all kinds of nifty features on our watches, we still like a good old fashioned ticker. The Glashütte Original Pocket Watch No. 1 has an 18k rose gold case with hinged lids on the dial and caseback and the dial is made of enamel with steel hands and Roman numeral hour markers that have been painted on. Other features include the hand-wound 84-10 movement, a quarter repeater mechanism, a zero-reset mechanism for the seconds hand and a matching rose gold chain. Only 25 pieces will be available and the price will be revealed at Baselworld in March. $TBA.
