The Scottish 70-Year-Old Mortlach from Gordon and MacPhail was unveiled last month at a tasting hosted at Edinburgh Castle. It’s considered the oldest single-malt whiskey in the world as it has been aging in a Spanish oak cask since 1938. The taste is to be considered delicate, vital and fruity as well as waxy and smoky. The limited edition whiskey and bottles are all hand-blown and there are 54 of the full-sized ones and 162 of the smaller ones. $3,000 – $15,000.

The master distiller uses a process called ’selective distillation’ that selects the superior flavors and aromas to create a crisp and aromatic tequila. Available in silver, gold and reposado. $35 to $50.

German Gonzalez was a master distiller with Chicano Tequila but he has recently launched his own brand called, t1 Tequila. As of now, there are three white varieties and another one which is a reposado that is aged in wood for six months. The tequilas are 100% agave and come from the Los Altos Mexican highlands. Once the agave reaches maturity Gonzalez will slow roast it for 20 hours and then it’s double distilled. $40-$160.
