Much has been said about the Ford GT40 – how it destroyed the mighty Ferrari in the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance racing and all that. This may not be the exact car that accomplished that feat but it’s a close relative. The 1965 Ford GT40 Roadster Prototype is number 8 of only 12 samples ever built. She was lovingly preserved by a single owner for over two decades and she’s now up for auction. RM Auctions is offering chassis number GT/108 at their Monterrey event on August 15-16, 2014.
